Dallas
Cowboys Tickets By
Seth Taylor
Dallas Cowboys Tickets are
some of the bestselling tickets in the NFL. In fact they hold
the record of 160 consecutive sold out stadiums. What makes
this so impressive is that this record includes not only home games,
but games on the road as well.
This goes to
show
that the Dallas Cowboys have a national following like no other team in
the NFL. It never ceases to amaze me that no matter where I
go there always seem to be Cowboys fans nearby.
"America's
Team" as they were coined in the late 70's has had a strong following
across the country for the last 30 years. It is easy to see why.
They
are one of the most winningest franchises in the NFL. They
are one of only 3 other teams to have won 5 Super Bowls - the other two
teams being the Pittsburgh Steelers and the San Francisco 49ers.
According
to a study by Forbes magazine conducted in 2008, the Dallas Cowboys are
the most valuable franchise in the NFL with an estimated worth of
$1.612 billion. They placed just ahead of the Washington
Redskins ($1.538 billion) and the New
England Patriots ($1.324 billion).
So
this all explains why tickets sell like hotcakes. The good
news to you Cowboys fans is that you have a new stadium for the 2009
season. With the new stadium come 15,000 additional seats.
That should reduce the waiting list for season tickets and make it a
little easier to get tickets (at least that we hope, right?) The
Dallas Cowboys new stadium will be located in Arlington, TX about 15
miles from Irving, TX where the old stadium (Texas Stadium) was located.
The
cost of the new stadium is in excess of $1 billion making it the most
expensive sports venue ever built. Some of the high tech
features of the stadium include:
- Retractable
roof with sky opening similar to prior Texas Stadium
- Open
endzones with retractable glass doors 120 feet high by 480 feet wide
- Video
board measuring 180 x 50 ft, the largest in the world
- 200
suites in 8 different locations
- Domed roof over
660,000 square feet, the largest domed structure in the world
The
Dallas Cowboy ticket prices in the new stadium currently range from $59
per game to $340 per game. Fortunately for fans, the $59 tickets are
only a slight increase of less than $10 per game than they were in the
old stadium.
There are 4
main sections with varying
prices in the stadium:
Founder's Pricing $340
per game $150,000 Seat Option
Club Seats $340
per game $16,000 - $50,000 Seat Option
Loge $125
per game $12,000 Seat Option
Reserved $59
- $125 per game 0 - $5000 Seat Option
The
Seat Options are one time fees that are required for season ticket
holders. You have the option of paying the one time fee
upfront or financing it at currently 8% interest over 30 years.
I
was absolutely astonished when I saw that tickets could be financed
over 30 years. Whoever thought that we would see the day where we
finance football tickets over 30 years like a mortgage? That
is when you know that football has gotten really, REALLY big in this
country! To purchase season
tickets visit the website to see
what seats are available. Then you can contact the sales
department to finish the process which will include a seat deposit on
your seat option.
If you are
looking for tickets for
individual games there are a couple of ways that I would suggest to go
about it.
First check online around June or July at
Ticketmaster when individual tickets are released to see what is
available. You can also check throughout the year since
sometimes tickets become available at various times in the year.
If
you are unable to find tickets available on Ticketmaster then you can
always utilize an NFL ticket broker. My favorite broker is
TicketNetwork
.
I have found that they have the best
combination of price and reliability.
Here's a trick
that you need to know before you run off to buy them. It is
almost always better to not buy tickets early in advance when
purchasing from ticket brokers. You want to buy them closer to the day
of the game, about 5-7 days before. I know that this goes
against conventional wisdom but trust me when I tell you that this is
true about 80% of the time.
Another place
you may
want to check is Stubhub
which sometimes has good
prices, since many, though not all, of the sellers are individuals that
hold season tickets. Sometimes season tickets holders list their
tickets for sale just to get rid of them. They do not try to
make as much of a profit as ticket brokers.
