NFL Draft

By Seth Taylor

For football fans after football season the NFL draft is the most anticipated day in the offseason.  The only other main event related to football in the offseason is the Pro Bowl.

And we all know that the Pro Bowl, well how can I put this?  It is challenged in the entertainment department.  It is probably the worst all star game in professional sports.  But can you blame the players?

Why would anyone go out there, play their heart out and risk getting injured before the next season?  That is just the nature of the game so it makes for a non-exciting all star event.

The NFL draft, on the other hand, is the magic ticket for NFL football fans when we all get our hopes up waiting for the next savior(s) to come and rescue our favorite team.  So we look forward to this day to see what the team is going to look like next year.

Attending

The NFL Draft takes place in New York City, NY every year in June.  It has been located in different venues over the years and now occurs in Javits Convention Center.  It has taken place there since 2005.

If you are looking to attend the NFL Draft then here are some things that you will need to know.

The tickets to the NFL Draft are free to the public.  They are given out on a first come first serve basis on the morning of draft day.  However, if you want to receive tickets then you are going to have to make sure that you arrive very early.

Mock Drafts

Most people are interested in the NFL Draft to see what players their team is going to pick up for the next season.  That day can not seem to come soon enough for NFL fans.  We are all hoping for this player or that player.

Fortunately there are many places online that give us a precursor to what could be in the NFL Draft in June.  These mock drafts are just people's opinions on who they think that a team will draft.

It is really impossible to know where players are going since there are so many trade downs, trade ups and other factors to take into consideration.

However if you look across 3 or 4 of them you can get a better idea of the potential players that your team could be drafting.  Here are a few of the more popular mock drafts online:
