Pittsburgh Steelers Tickets

By Seth Taylor

The Pittsburgh Steelers are the oldest NFL Franchise in the AFC.  They have one of the largest fan bases of all of the teams in the NFL and Pittsburgh Steeler Tickets are not the easiest to come by.

Best Fans in NFL

In fact a study by ESPN, voted the Pittsburgh Steelers as having the best fans in the NFL. Now, I know that many of you will argue against this saying that your team has the best fans.  We all think that our teams' fans are the best, right?

The study by ESPN scored each NFL team in 7 different categories. The teams were then put in order based upon their scores.  The categories scored were:
  • Stadium - Atmostphere of the stadium
  • Live and die factor -  How hard the team takes a loss
  • Traveling road show factor - How well the team travels to away games
  • Loyalty when team sucks - Does the team stick with losers
  • Hate factor - Do other fans hate the team's fans.  The more hated the better
  • Tailgate factor - Tailgating big at home games?
  • Home fans' creativity - How creative are the fans in the stands
The Steelers came in first place with the Packers, Browns, Eagles, and Chiefs rounding out the top five best fans.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have won an astonishing 5 Super Bowls.  This places them in a 3 way tie with the 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys for teams with the most Super Bowls in the NFL.

So it is no wonder why the team is so popular. Since we all know that everyone loves a winner.  This popularity though comes at a price to fans trying to get tickets.  Pittsburgh Steeler tickets are some of the hardest tickets to get in the NFL.

They have a waiting list of over 40,000 with wait times of over 12 years.  It you want to be added to this waiting list you can send a request to add your name to the following:

Pittsburgh Steelers
PO Box 6763, Pittsburgh, PA 15212

If you do not wish to wait 12 years to get tickets there are ways to get your hands on some of those valuable commoditieds.

Acquiring Tickets

The first thing that you want to do is to check Ticketmaster.  It does not matter that the tickets are all sold out.  Again I repeat, it does not matter that the tickets are sold out.  Sometimes tickets become available.

I know because I checked myself in the middle of a season and to my surprise, BAM. There they were.  So checking Ticketmaster is your first step.

The next step that you want to take is to check an online Ticket Broker.  They will almost always have tickets available.  They will also have a wide variety if you are looking to sit in certain areas.

The brokers that I recommend are
The key to getting the best price when purchasing from a ticket broker is to wait until close to the day of the game.  Yes this goes against conventional wisdom, but believe me 85% of the time you will get a better deal this way.

Buying about 5-7 days out is usually your best bet.  This gives you the best combination of price from the ticket broker and price for expedited shipping.  Any closer than that and the shipping cost are more than the savings on the ticket.
